How to search for a conference paper in Google / Google Scholar

Some conference papers are published in proceedings online and are available freely.

Step 1: Go to www.google.com or www.scholar.google.com (unless the citation contains a direct link).

Step 2: Search for the title of the paper in double quotation marks. E.g. “conference paper title”.

Step 3: Click on the link to the full text, if available.

How to search for a conference paper published in proceedings in the WebOPAC

Some conference papers are published in proceedings in a book/CD format. Hence, you can try searching the title of the conference in the Library One Stop Search.

Step 1: To begin your search, click on the search bar. Select "All", input the title and hit enter.

TIP: Search by keyword and/or the name of the conference organiser if you do not have the exact conference title.


Step 2: Then, locate the call number of the item.

Some conference papers may be available as electronic academic papers (e-prints). Hence, you can try searching the title of the paper in the LibDiscover search tab or in the NIE Digital Repository directly.
