How to search for a conference paper in Google / Google Scholar

Some conference papers are published in proceedings online and are available freely.

  1. Go to www.google.com or www.scholar.google.com (unless the citation contains a direct link).
  2. Search for the title of the paper in “brackets”.
  3. Click on the link to the full text, if available.

How to search for a conference paper published in proceedings in the WebOPAC

Some conference papers are published in proceedings in a book/CD format. Hence, you can try searching the title of the conference in a WebOPAC ‘title’ field search.   Click the ‘Browse’ button for a more specific search.

  TIP: Search by keyword and/or the name of the conference organizer if you do not have the exact conference title.

Next, click on the 2nd search result.

Then, locate the call number of the item.

Some conference papers may be available as electronic academic papers (e-prints).  Hence, you can try searching the title of the paper in the LibDiscover search tab or in the NIE Digital Repository directly.
