How to use the MERGE Cube and headset

The NIE Library is using the Merge EDU Apps and Merge Cube for AR experiences.

Hence, to get started you will need the following:

  • Your own mobile device or one of the library's IPADs
  • A Merge Cube (a paper-made one or one of the library's physical cubes)
  • Merge EDU apps (you will need to download them if you are using your own mobile device)
  • A Merge Headset (this is optional, but you can also use the library's copy)
  • A Merge EDU account (Free or the library's own subscription)

Simply download and launch Cube apps on a smartphone or tablet, point your device at the Cube, and watch the Cube transform before your eyes to serve as a physical proxy for digital models.

For an additional immersive experience, try slipping your smartphone into the MERGE Headset and free up both your hands to interact with the Cube as you watch via pass-through video stream.
