Findit@NIE

Link resolver or article linker

When faced with these scenarios...

Scenario 1:
You enter one of the licensed databases in the library portal or enter LibDiscover!, and perform a search. You find some relevant titles in the list of search results.  However, there is no PDF download link for one of the results. You only see a  button at the bottom of the search result.

Scenario 2:
You enter Google Scholar and perform a search. On the right-hand column there are hyperlinks to download the free full text of some search results. However, most results do not have such hyperlinks. How do you find out if a search result has full text availability in NIE Library's licensed resources?

Solution - Use Findit@NIE Article Linker

In the above Scenario 1, the search retrieval system only detected the article citation; it did not detect the full text in that database(s) search,. However, clicking on the  button will then prompt the search retrieval system to search through our entire database collection for other databases that possibly contain the full text of the article.

In the above Scenario 2, you have not configured Google Scholar settings to recognise that you are an NIE user. Once you have configured the settings, you will see hyperlinks to the full text in our licensed resources, if any.
A click on the  linking button in the search results leads you to a page with hyperlink(s) to the full text of the article or to the journal or database that contains the article.
