Professor James Arthur: A Select Bibliography

This bibliography was compiled in conjunction with the 15th CJ Koh Professorial Public Lecture in 2023. Access to licensed resources is only available to NIE staff and students. 

Professor James Arthur is the Director of the Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtues, University of Birmingham, specialising in the relationship between theory and practice in education, particularly in character, vitues, citizenship, and religion. He has numerous honorary tiltles and fellowships, including Honorary Professor of the University of Glasgow and Honorary Research Fellow in the University of Oxford. He previously held leadership positions as Head of the School of Education and Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor. He also chaired the national Society for Educational Studies and served on various government educational committees, including the Step Up to Serve Advisory Council chaired by HRH the Prince of Wales (2013-2020).
