Prof Sharon Lynn Kagan: A Select Bibliography

This bibliography was compiled in conjunction with the 2nd Dr. Lee Sing Kong Professorship in Early Childhood Education (19-23 February 2024). Access to licensed resources is only available to NIE staff and students.

Prof Sharon Lynn Kagan is the Virginia and Leonard Marx Professor of Early Childhood and Family Policy and Co-Director of the National Center for Children and Families at Teachers College, Columbia University, and Professor Adjunct at Yale University’s Child Study Center.

On 21 February 2024, Prof Kagan delivered an insightful public lecture titled 'Creating Opportunities for Young Children: A Story of Continuity and Change' at Alliance Française de Singapour. In the lecture, Prof Kagan discussed the roles of families, early childhood educators, and policy-makers in helping children navigate the various challenges that they may face in a fast-changing world.

Prof Kagan also conducted an NIE seminar titled 'Early Childhood Education Around the Globe: Learning and Sharing with Other Countries.' The seminar delved deep into the factors that contributed to an effective early childhood education system based on research findings from six societies.
